About William F. Conlon
William F. Conlon is a retired partner of Sidley Austin LLP. Immediately after graduating from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was a member of the University of Illinois Law Review, Bill served in the Army.Prior to joining Sidley, Bill was an Assistant United State Attorney in Chicago. While at the United States Attorney's office, Bill was involved in criminal investigations and prosecutions as well as the trial and appeal civil and criminal cases. Bill also served as Chief of the Civil Division of the United States Attorney's Office.
Bill subsequently joined Sidley Austin LLP, where he served for many years as Head of the Chicago Litigation Group and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Bill's trial and appellate experience includes jury and bench trials as well as mediations, arbitrations and administrative proceedings in state and federal courts throughout the country. Bill also served as General Counsel of the firm for several years.
Bill currently is the Chair of the City of Chicago Board of Ethics. He has for many years served as an Adjunct Professor of Trial Practice at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. Bill is currently serving as sole arbitrator in a significant commercial matter.
