About Jonah Orlofsky
After graduating from Northwestern School of Law in 1980, I clerked for the Honorable Milton I. Shadur, then worked for the litigation boutique Plotkin & Jacobs (later Plotkin, Jacobs & Orlofsky) and then opened my own firm in 2000. During my litigation years I tried cases and argued appeals in multiple jurisdictions around the country. Starting in 2011 switched my focus to mediation and arbitration, and have since mediated over 600 cases, with an emphasis on class actions, employment matters, insurance coverage issues, attorneys fees, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. One aspect of my training that is perhaps unique is that while I was first trained in evaluative mediation (and use that technique in virtually all commercial mediations), I trained in facilitative methods through the Center for Conflict Resolution, and have since mediated cases involving divorce, custody battles and neighbor disputes. As a result, I am very comfortable with disputes that have a significant emotional component.Information
