About Dimitrie Umbrarescu

I have been a practicing attorney since 2003. A good part of my practice has been in family law and real estate law. In June 2019, I became a volunteer mediator with Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR), a not-for-profit corporation set up to aid the Chicago community in effectively handling disputes. I have mediated several disputes on behalf of this organization. Mediation is an environment that provides the parties with more certainty for their case. It is important for me to understand the interests and needs of the parties first before I discuss strategies for dealing with their problems. I like to acknowledge the parties’ emotions. My approach is to address not only the numbers but also the underlying feelings.
